Taylor Falk


Taylor is a competent, experienced, and attentive computational biologist. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Connecticut in 2015, and has been working professionally since. He is currently working at his alma matter, where he has helped develop the TreeGenes forest tree omics database, lead authored a paper on that resources, and helped annotate multiple angiosperm genomes. He is proficient in Unix shell, R, SQL, and Python.

Some of the recent projects I have worked on:

Comparative Genomics of Six Juglans Species
Co-authored an annotation project comparing six walnut species, with a focus on determining relevant gene function.

Forest Tree Omics Database: TreeGenes
Lead authored this paper describing the TreeGenes database, and worked closely with migration large datasets using PostgreSQL, and developed multiple components of the CartograTree mapping and visualization extension to create a useful website for tree research.

Comparative Transcriptomics Among Four White Pine Species
Helped draft a comparative paper for four North American White Pine species, comparing needle tissue transcriptomics.
